About Me :	Why am I here? That’s easy – someone saw my personal ad at another site, emailed me, and suggested that I join VOIS. After looking at the site, how could I refuse? Anyway, I am mainly looking for a serious relationship, but friends are always great – one can’t have too many. For your reading pleasure, here’s the personal ad, which is still valid for any females who are as tired of the single and solo scene as I am… I am a professional, relatively decent-looking (most people think I'm in my 20s, still), goal-oriented SWM who is typically told, "you are a nice guy" and "I can't understand why you are still single" looking for that someone special. As some of you may know, this area is not the easiest in which to meet someone, which is why I am here. Primarily, I'm looking for a LTR. I would ideally like to get married someday and have one child with the right person - a romantic woman with a slightly quirky sense of humor who wants something real that will last and stand the test of time. Sports and nightclubs are two things that I'm not often interested in, but once in a while they are cool, fly, sweet, or whatever today's expression is. I've been working out some lately, so I'm getting in the shape I've always wanted to be in. I do enjoy concerts, plays and similar events. Volunteering is also something I am involved with. I’m also a very objective-oriented person (which is why I went the personal ad route) and believe in striving to be the best that I can be, but also very laid back. Right now I'm assisting with graduate-level college classes as a teaching assistant and contemplating whether or not to pursue a doctorate, as well as working out. Hey, I have to fill those lonely nights some way right now! I'm also very romantic and know how to treat a lady right. I also tend to do better with people either slightly younger or older than myself. For example, I had much more in common with the mid-twenties co-workers at my last job than with people my own age, and have tons of fun with the late-fifties and older folks at my Toastmasters club. For some reason, a lot of people my age have forgotten how to enjoy life. Not me! The things I value the most in a relationship are honesty and being yourself. Other traits I'm looking for are compassion and an open mind. So, being a person who can share their innermost desires and dreams as opposed to a mask-wearer who shuts me out is very important. If you are the kind of person who prefers to be the pyrotechnic fake of the smoke and mirrors Wizard of Oz instead of letting me see the fascinating real person behind the curtain, I'm not for you. But, I will also do the same and share all. In other words, we would be mutual best friends that unconditionally accept each other's qualities. My ideal is equal partners that make each other stronger by always communicating their feelings and considering the other person. A person I can talk with all night and it seems like an hour. Someone who takes the time to enjoy the passion of a chilly autumn morning, the silliness of a moment, or the specialness of a sunset. A person that brightens the hues of life to colors that are unimagined without them in my life.
