A couple of years ago, my son and I arrived home and found two show-pigeons desperately searching for grass seeds in our back yard. My son discovered that many show-pigeon breeders, release 'imperfect stock' and we assume this is where our flock originates. I work at home, I so am around the house a lot of the time, and I have built up a relationship with our pigeons, most of whom we have named.
