art show tonight 2/14

howdy Cats n Hats ~ I hope you're freezing your buncakes off - because if not you're not in NY and you won't be coming to this show.... Some friends and I will be part of a very special Valentine's Night performance and exhibition opening at the Jonathan Shorr Gallery in Soho (109 Crosby St. @ Prince) this Thursday from 2/14 6-10pm. A gaggle of sweet young poets known collectively as The Poetry Brothel will be performing their unique brand of verse while I create a live painting of one of them on the spot. This won't be one of the quick Watercolor Portraits I have been making of late (altho those are still available for a mere 100 bucks a pop) but a full-on portrait made from tubes of delicious vibrant color!!! On the walls surrounding us will hang new paintings by myself and the others mentioned above and we do hope you will cancel all your silly romantic escapades for the evening and come on down for some sarcasm, cynicism and maybe just a bit of random beauty.
