Where Will You Be On November 4, 2008?
Talk vs. Action

My friend, where will you be on November 4, 2008? Will you stand united in favor of positive growth, sound action, and dedicated public service or will you tolerate rhetoric and stagnant complacency? Of the many proud Floridians and Americans that I am honored to know, all are uniformly poised and ready for long awaited change throughout Florida’s 23rd U.S. Congressional District on November 4, 2008. Right Here, Right Now: It is time to elect District 23 leadership that is of the people, by the people, for the people.
Upon assessing my opponent I ask you what can be gained by electing a “preacher” who “preaches the word” in order to garner election support, yet publicly disavows the predominant religion worshipped by the majority of constituents in U.S. Congressional District 23? Upon assessing my opponent I ask you what can be gained by electing a “judge” who frequently passes harsh judgment on others (e.g., Senator Harry Reid), yet has no bench on which to serve? Upon assessing my opponent I ask you what can be gained by electing a “representative” who places a premium on affairs outside of the corridors of Congressional District 23, yet consistently fails to “represent” within the District; thus, allowing the infrastructure of CD 23 to decay and falter for more than a decade and a half?
Categorically, the 16-year incumbent that I am challenging in 2008 has overstayed his welcome in Washington, D.C. His denouncement of his own Party’s Senate majority leadership, his denouncement of Christianity at Christmas time (all the while endorsing and supporting Ramadan and the religion of Islam), and his denouncement of the Democrat National Committee’s standard rules for electoral proceedings, all point to the fact that the 16-year incumbent is not a good fit for Floridians and Americans.  Democrats, Independents, and Republicans can best serve present and future generations by bringing about a changing of the guard in Florida’s 23rd U.S. Congressional District on November 4, 2008.
In closing, I extend my heartfelt wishes for a “Happy New Year!” and Great ’08. In the spirit and tradition of setting personal and professional resolutions for the New Year, let us resolve to overcome the deleterious effects that occur when good people allow bad leadership to reign for 16 years. Right Here, Right Now: It is time for all good people to band together for the betterment of Florida’s 23rd U.S. Congressional District.
It is my strongest hope that you will stand with me on November 4, 2008.
Sincerely,
Dr. Marion D. Thorpe, Jr.
U.S. Congressional Candidate
District 23
Florida
