WHAT IS LOVE?????

February 19, 2007 - Monday
WHAT IS LOVE?????
When you love someone you care about them, you do what you can for them, you always make sure they are in good health  and they have all the things they need mentally, physically..

You provide and protect them in every way you no how..

But really what do you think love really is?

I would think love is loving yourself first... for if you don't love you and care about yourself,

how can you love someone else...

WHAT DO YOU THINK LOVE IS...?

you know love can be tricky.. it really depends on how are you loving that person.. and how much you love them.. love is honoring there wishes, doing what you can to help them, listening to them when they talk, comforting them when they need you to, giving them hugs even when they don't need it, rubbing there feet after they have had a hard day of work, getting out of your bed and cooking for them when they come in at 2:00 am and you even don't know why they was out so late.. lol.. etc.. you know what i am talking about...

love for me is loving myself and my relationship with God when those are in line i have much love for anyone in my life, i have more than enough to share with the rest of the world. my experience has taught me that it first start within me, when i love myself first, i can give love for regardless how the other person acts my love for myself shields me from nonsense, it doesn't even come my way, cause i am vibrating on such a Master Love lord level i only attract the same. I cook clean give massages, drive when she is tired cause i love to do that for me lol lol o yeah "love is"

Hi Vetta. I would like to say thank you for posting this blog forum, and that I enjoy the comments made here regarding love. With your permission, would like to offer a spiritual view.

Love, to me, finds its place often in a situation where it could appear most discouraging. I've experienced several different facets of love. There's true love as in a romantic relationship. There's brotherly love, as in the case of "brotherly (or sisterly) affection. There's also "neighborly love", which many people seem to have forgotten.

Sometimes, its hard to show love to strangers. We easily show love to our friends. One reason for this is because expect something back. If I do something exceptional for a stranger, I may not ever see him again and so he can't return the favor. In a situation like that, I try to remember what Jesus said at Matthew 5:46, 47. "For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?"

These publicans were tax collectors, often despised and hated by the Jews. What Jesus was saying is that if I love only those loving me, I'm no different than the people I don't like or hate. Everybody loves those loving them. And if I greet only my "brothers", I'm no different than people who are not called Christians. Even ordinary folks greet those whom they consider brothers. So, Jesus was not sayting "love thy neighbor" to imply that if we did so, we would be saved. The bible is clear that love is the evidence that one is already saved by the grace of God. Therefore, Jesus says that we are to love even our enemies as our brothers. This would make us different, for most people of the world only love those who love them. But for Christians, loving everyone, our family, friends, neighbors, strangers, and yes, even our enemies, is a way of life.

Everybody needs love and the weak need it the most. I realize that I am not the savior of the world. Jesus holds that position. yet, I also know that Jesus kept it real with people. Some people didn't like his words. Many accepted his sayings with heartfelt joy, feeling liberated afterwards. To love others is not a choice; it's a law. Jesus empasized the "law of love". And really, where would any of us be unless Jesus helped us, which is the whole focal point of his dying sacrifice: So that we may be saved. I would like to conclude in the words of the apostle Paul as stated at 1 Timothy 1:15: "This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief".

With brotherly love,
Greg

love is most certainly about handling both the BITTER & THE SWEET. love is something that may not necessarily need to be said over and over, but is demonstrated on a regular basis. love is not lust, and lust is not love. learn to seek deep within to truly discover the love that awaits you.

veronica... ya you are right about one thing... YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE BITTER WITH THE SWEET.. YOU CAN'T HAVE ONE WITHOUT THE OTHER ONE... FOR WHEN YOU LOVE SOMEONE YOU TAKE THE BAD AND THE GOOD OF THEM.. AND WE ALL HAVE A GOOD SIDE AS WELL AS BAD SIDE... BUT OF COURSE YOU HAVE TO LOVE YOURSELF FIRST.. One Love.. V

any how i have question to you vetta.

how i can know if my God love me , or hate me

i mean if i take the right way and i faced troubles in this way , is that means God hate me, or if i take the wrong way and i gain more, is that means God love me,

As I see it, love is long suffering. Some people are easy to love and some aren't but you take the bitter with the sweet as stated in a previous comment. That's where long suffering comes in. I believe there are different kinds of love, such as the love you have for your Children, your spouse, your girlfriend/boyfriend, your friends, your parents, your siblings and finally God. In a nutshell Love is caring for someone IN SPITE OF their shortcomings. You care for a person unconditionally. When you can still care for a person that doesn't deserve it, THAT'S LOVE.

Love Is...

Love is the warm feeling in my heart when I
think of my children, Love is when my
mothers loving memories invades my mind, since she is no longer with me, Love is getting a kiss on the cheek by my
children, when they're mad at me, Love is seeing God in my
children, Love is not being afraid to let a
man opened my heart so wide that I feel
reborn, Love is knowing my heart is my best
asset, Love is my son being so excited when
he comes over to visits that lifts up and spins me around, Love is God hugging me with his rays of the sunlight, Love is
fearless, Love is not being afraid to love
thy neighbor, Love is knowing that
you are loved, Love is telling your
girlfriends that their beautiful and
meaning it, Love is loving yourself, Love
is the feeling of motherhood, Love is
allowing others to love you no matter what
you think about them, Love is forgiving
yourself, Love is knowing God already has,
Love is God

You have that exactly right, no other explanation can make it any clearer as to what love is. But, what happens when you stop caring, do you stop loving?

charles, when you stop caring dear, it does'nt mean you stop loving that person not at all... you can love someone and not be with them... love is a strong word and have strong feelings to follow.. we seem to concuse what love is, with caring for someone... two difrrent things.. you can care about someone but not love them.... you can love someone and not be with them... in other words.. if you love someone but you don't get alone.. (can't live together) does mean you don't love them you just can't live together.. so on so forth... so in my words... to answer your question... no you don't stop loving you just stopped caring in that way...

Ok Vetta I like your blog, but I have a question to you about love, I still love and care about my x after our split over 3 years ago, I don't know if she feels the same, but the one thing I do know is we split because of her love for god. Because of that I don't care to much about god or any of that stuff. My question is Vetta, does one (ie me) have to be forced to love god in a relationship to be able to be with the one person I am deeply in love with?

My Dear F1 Driver, the problem with that situation is.. when you have a person that is religious that individual is living according to what they now best.. meaning.. in other words.. if they are a christian the bible say that you have to be married in order to have a relationship and sex.... so she feel like she is going against gods well and his commandments into which he has gave us to follow... if you are not a christian then you also will be unevenly yoked.. mean different beliefs. That does'nt mean she don't love you it just means she had no choice if you was not married.. she per-fur to live accordingly to GODS WORDS and sacrifice her love for you for her love of god.. believe me she still loves you but she loves god and her soul too... you can't hate GOD for her wanting to follow his will you should not have to be forced to believe in something you don't also. So i am saying... that if she is a christian.. she will lead you to GOD because of the light that is in her... so she should not force it on you let you come on your own...

My best wishes on that situation... and i will be praying for you..

Lasheba, you are right about all that.. Love does hurt yes pain is also involved... and of course sometimes we cry when things don't go our way.. but that is a part of love... we have our ups and downs.. we agree and we disagree... love is all that.. you have to take the good with the bad... but still love one another as you would have them to love you..
